Vet Molly has always been career driven and focussed on caring for her animals, but when she meets a gorgeous Mystery Man at a conference and their connection is off the charts, well, one night off work won’t hurt anyone…except the next morning he’s vanished and all Molly knows about him is his first name.
Three months later, back in Love Heart Lane, everyone loves the story of Molly’s amazing one-night stand. It’s so unlike her! But when Mystery Man turns up walking his dog through Primrose Park and their night together seems to mean nothing to him, Molly needs her friends and neighbours more than ever. And especially when she’s left with the most unexpected of surprises…

This is book #6 of the Love Heart Lane series. Whilst part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone book. I have read all of this series, and am always excited to return to the loveliness that is the little Scottish village of Heartcross! In this book we meet Molly McKendrick, one of the local vets. Molly is a great character and I connected with her as soon as I started the book. Whilst at a conference for her new dog behavioural therapy business, Molly literally bumps into super gorgeous dentist Cam, and they cheekily end up enjoying a one night stand!! This changes Molly’s life in more ways than she could ever imagine and I loved sharing Molly’s journey with her!
The book was absolutely delightful, just like all the other books in the series, and I devoured this book in less than a day! We got to meet again some of the other residents of Heartcross which we’ve come to know and love, and also some new ones! The book does focus on Molly and Cam’s stories though and I found myself hooked into this with the author knowing exactly which heartstrings to pull! It is an emotional read at times, but mainly is light-hearted and heart-warming with plenty of love, laughs, and even a little bit of devious behaviour to shock you from certain characters! For me, a lot of the laughs came from Darling the dog who was so aptly named and provided some great images of Molly in wellies and running across parks!!
I honestly never doubted for a moment that I wouldn’t love this book. Even though we are six books into the series, the books just keep getting better and better! The author is so good at making you feel like you’re part of the village, and I just know that if I lived in Heartcross I’d never want to leave! There is such a lovely feeling of community running through all of the books and you can’t help but want to return there time after time! If you’re looking for a book where you get so wrapped up in the story that you don’t even notice what is going on around you, then stop right there…this is the book for you!! I love, love LOVED it!!!
