Day 9 – Sledding
My father was a big sports guy so he always wanted to go do sports – in Winter it was Winter sports, cross country ski, toboggan or sledding. There was a sledding hill not too far from our house. The hill was rural and big and at the very end was a river that was usually frozen most of the winter.
One Christmas morning we all went sledding, but it wasn’t a particularly cold winter, and when we hit the sled trail and my dad missed grabbing us at the bottom, both my sister and I ended up sledding straight into the freezing river water. We nearly spent the rest of Christmas at the doctors, but luckily we got home and warmed up with a good story to tell how we went so far so fast and ended up in the river!
