Release Date: 18th September 2018 / Publisher: Aria
As the snowflakes start to fall, Holly Cove welcomes a new tenant to the beautiful old cottage on the beach…
For lifestyle magazine journalist Tia Armstrong, relationships, as well as Christmas, have lost all their magic. Yet Tia is up against a Christmas deadline for her latest article ‘Love is, actually, all around…’
So, Tia heads to Holly Cove where the restorative sea air and rugged stranger, Nic, slowly but surely start mending her broken heart.
Tia didn’t expect a white Christmas, and she certainly never dared dream that all her Christmas wishes might just come true…
Set in Caswell Bay on the stunningly beautiful Gower Coast, the cottage nestles amid the limestone cliffs and the woodlands, where the emotions run as turbulently as the wind-swept sea.
As cosy as a marshmallow-topped mug of cocoa, fall in love with a heart-warming festive story from the bestselling author of The French Adventure.
For journalist Tia Armstrong, since she’s lost her mum, romance and Christmas have lost their magic. Needing to write an article entitled “Love is, actually, all around”, Tia takes herself off to a quiet cottage in the village of Holly Cove. Here she meets taxi driver, Nic. Finding him the reserved and brooding type, Tia initially struggles to get on with him, but as time goes on could Nic be just the man to mend her broken heart?
I just knew as I read the blurb on this book that it was going to be a heart-breaking tale. The death of a parent is always going to tug at the heartstrings and I prepared myself with the knowledge that I would need plenty of tissues. I could feel myself welling up from the very beginning when Tia recounts a trip with her mother to New York and the memories that the drink Egg-Nog brings for them both. If I was already reaching for the box of tissues after the first chapter, what would I be like by the end!
It was a lovely book! It had its tearful parts, where I found myself reflecting on my own memories of lost loved ones, but it was equally just as heart-warming and full of joy! Tia was a lovely character and I loved her story of moving to Holly Cove and the interaction that she had with all the other villagers. The description of Holly Cove, nestled on the Gower Coast in Wales, was stunningly breath-taking and I could imagine the sea spray and wind on my face as I was reading.
This was definitely a book full of tears and sadness, love and laughter, friends and loved ones. Absolutely perfect for a Christmas read, as there was the obvious Christmas theme running through it. Would definitely recommend.
